Five researchers fromEwha Womans Universityhave been selected as recipients of the2026 Sejong Science Fellowship, a program supported by theMinistry of Science and ICTand theNational Research Foundation of Korea.

The Sejong Science Fellowship is a national research support program that encourages young scientists, including postdoctoral researchers, to conduct research in fields of their choice, enabling them to pioneer new areas of study and grow into leading researchers. The selected researchers will conduct independent research as principal investigators and receive approximately KRW 130 million in research and development (R&D) funding annually for the next five years.

The selected research topics span cutting-edge fields addressing major challenges facing society, including ▲ next-generation optical technologies ▲ precision nutrition strategies tailored for Koreans ▲ evaluation of vaccine effectiveness and safety based on environmental factors using big data ▲ AI-based next-generation anticancer drug delivery platforms ▲ and solving challenging problems in algebra. The selection is particularly notable for encompassing diverse academic disciplines such as chemistry and nanoscience, food and nutrition, interdisciplinary health sciences, mathematics, and pharmacy, demonstrating the university’s distinctive excellence in interdisciplinary research.

This achievement is meaningful in that it provides a stable foundation for the university’s researchers to pursue creative and experimental studies.Ewha Womans Universityplans to continue actively supporting outstanding early-career researchers so they can produce globally recognized research outcomes, while further strengthening its status as a research-oriented university, leading global research networks.
