이화인 21명, 제34회 공인노무사 시험 합격In the 202534th Certified Public Labor Attorney (CPLA) Examination, 21 current students and alumni of Ewha Womans University passed the exam. Following last year’s achievement, the University once again produced its highest-ever number of successful candidates, reaffirming its strong competitiveness in professional certification fields.

The Certified Public Labor Attorney Examination is one of eight national professional qualification exams administered by the Ministry of Employment and Labor to select experts in labor law and industrial relations. In recent years, it has recorded notably high competition among professional qualification exams. This year, 13,521 applicants registered for the first-stage exam—an increase of 1,875 from the previous year—and the pass rate for the second-stage exam, announced on November 19, stood at 7.63% (418 candidates).

Among Ewha’s successful candidates, six (28.6%) graduated from the College of Liberal Arts, five (23.8%) from the College of Social Sciences, four (19.0%) from the College of Education, two (9.5%) from the College of Health Sciences, and one each (4.8%) from the College of Natural Sciences, the College of Engineering, the College of Music, and the College of Art and Design. The results demonstrate a balanced distribution of successful candidates across a wide range of academic backgrounds, including the humanities, social sciences, education, engineering, natural sciences, and the arts.

Jang Won-young (Sociology, Class of 2019) shared her pride, saying, “This year, Ewha graduates account for about 5% of all Certified Public Labor Attorney passers, which makes me very proud.” Jung Chae-young (English Language and Literature, Class of 2023) remarked, “The solid academic foundation and continuous encouragement I received at Ewha gave me the confidence to take on the challenge of becoming a Certified Public Labor Attorney.”

Lee Abin (Economics, Class of 2021) stated, “I hope to grow into a labor attorney with strong practical expertise and become a helpful guide for juniors who aspire to this profession.” Lim Ji-ye (English Language and Literature, Class of 2022) added, “I hope more of our alumni will challenge themselves to become Certified Public Labor Attorneys so that we can open up diverse paths together.”

This achievement reflects not only individual effort but also the accumulated guidance and support of senior alumni who passed the exam earlier. For current students and alumni preparing for the CPLA examination, successful candidates and practicing labor attorney alumni voluntarily share their preparation experiences, helping younger Ewha members design more systematic career paths and sustain their challenges.

Yoon Dahuin (Educational Technology, Class of 2021), who passed the exam while still enrolled, commented, “Studying together with Ewha alumni was a great source of motivation for me and helped me stay consistently focused.” Choi Do-jin (Education, Class of 2021) likewise expressed, “I want to do my best to support more Ewha members who dream of becoming Certified Public Labor Attorneys so that they can achieve success.”
