The Graduate School of Education’s Art Therapy Education major held the 3rd Ewha Art-Theragogy Symposium and Exhibition. Ewha Womans University Graduate School of Education (Dean: Shin SangGeun) hosted the 3rd Ewha Art-Theragogy Symposium and its accompanying exhibition on October 30 (Thu) and 31 (Fri). Held at the Kim Ae-ma Hall in the Education Building, the event explored the role of art therapy as a form of social art that restores communal care and interconnectedness beyond individual psychological healing. Dean Shin SangGeun expressed his hopes that “Ewha Art-Theragogy will continue to grow as an integrative learning space connecting the arts, research, and clinical practice for current students and alumnae, and that this symposium and exhibition serve as an opportunity to share and expand the social meaning of art therapy,” while encouraging the further development of the major’s symposium and exhibition.

Centered on the theme “The Social Role of Healing Arts,” the symposium featured a lecture by Savneet K. Talwar, professor at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and a workshop by Choi YeSeul, an art psychology specialist at Ewha. In her lecture titled “Art Therapy and Needle Methodologies: Mending Memory and Belonging in the Archives,” Professor Talwar examined how fiber art practices can facilitate the restoration of memory and belonging, highlighting the ways in which art therapy contributes to reconstructing social memory and relationships. The workshop, “Creating a Healing Space Together,” offered participants a hands-on opportunity to experience how art therapy can become a practical site for cultivating communal meaning and mutual care by creating a healing space together through art.교육대학원 미술치료교육전공 제3회 이화 아트테라고지 학술제 및 전시회 개최

A total of 49 students from the Art Therapy Education major participated, presenting their artistic capabilities while demonstrating the role and significance of art therapy in fostering connection and shared healing.
