Sungbin Youk (PhD, University of California, Santa Barbara) is an assistant professor in the Division of Communication and Media, where he researches behavioral neuroscience communication. His work meticulously investigates the cognitive processes of persuasion and moral judgment using fMRI and eye-tracking technologies. Building on his research, he analyzes the healthy consumption of entertainment content, providing novel insights. He aims to conduct research that encompasses theory, methodology, and practical implications (what he calls the 'theory-method-practice triangle'), seeking a deep understanding of media communication through interdisciplinary collaborations that transcend academic boundaries. He has received awards for excellence in teaching at the University of California, Santa Barbara and for his research at international conferences, including those held by the International Communication Association.
