최용상 교수는 기후에너지시스템공학과 소속 교수로 기후물리 분야의 권위자이다. 사회적경제협동과정의 겸임교수이자 소셜벤처 레인버드지오(주)의 대표이사를 겸직하고 있다. 서울대학교 지구환경과학부에서 박사학위를 받았으며 미국 MIT 박사후연구원, NASA 제트추진연구소에서 방문교수를 지냈다. 기후변화 및 각종 지구환경문제에 대해 연구를 진행하며 현재까지 총 120여편의 논문을 <Nature Climate Change> <Nature Communications> <PNAS> 등 SCI급 국제학술지에 발표하였다. 저서로는 『기후변화교과서』(도요새), 『기후과학자가 쓴 기후역학교과서』(동화기술)등이 있다.
