Ph.D. Students Majoring in Integrated Art Therapy Are Selected for the “2022 Research Programme in Humanities and Social

Three Ph.D. students in Integrated Art Therapy at the Ewha College of Art & Design, Kim Yu-ri, Gong So-yeon, and Ahn Seo-hyun, were selected for the "2022 Research Programme in Humanities and Social Sciences (Type B)" supported by the Korea Research Foundation. “Research Programme in Humanities and Social Sciences” is a project funded by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Research Foundation to strengthen the foundation of academic research, which is the basis of innovative growth, by establishing a safety net for researchers in humanities and social fields to manage uninterrupted research activities.


Kim Yu-ri (Ph.D. in Integrated Art Therapy) was selected for her project "Qualitative Case Study of Group Art Therapy for the Independence of Youth who Ended Protection.” Kim mentioned that she would like to conduct meaningful research based on the therapeutic utility of art.

Kang Ae-ran, a professor of Integrated Art Therapy, encouraged the students, saying, "We hope that it will be an opportunity for students to grow into the new researchers who contribute to society. Congratulations to the establishment of the Department of Integrated Art Therapy and Ph.D. students' selection for the project for three consecutive years.”

The Department of Integrated Art Therapy, newly established at the College of Art & Design in 2020, trains researchers specializing in art therapy who innovatively fuse various studies, and currently has 21 Ph.D. students. Since 2020, the Ph.D. students of Integrated Art Therapy have been selected for the project every year and actively conducting various studies by developing international research capabilities, such as presenting at international academic conferences.
