Alumna Choi Soon-hee Donates KRW 200 Million to College of Art & Design Construction Fund

Ewha Womans University has received a donation of KRW 200 million to the College of Art & Design Construction Fund from alumna Choi Soon-hee (Interior and Fashion Design, graduating class of 1975). The donation will be used to improve the educational and research facilities within the college.
Ewha held a fund delivery ceremony in the reception room of the Pfeiffer Hall to express its gratitude. Attendees included: donor Choi Soon-hee; Hyang-Sook Lee, President of Ewha Womans University; Jhungsoo Park, Executive Vice President for Research and External Affairs; Gyoung-Sil Choi, Dean of College of Art & Design; Jeong Ah Choi, Vice President for Student Affairs; Yun Jung Choi, Vice President for University Relations and Development; Hyemi Lee, Associate Vice President for University Relations and Development.

Alumna Choi Soon-hee currently serves as Executive Advisor at Lacasaworks Co. Ltd, which was originally founded as the furniture and interior firm Casamia and has since expanded its business into diverse sectors, including hotels and storage. She has consistently supported her alma mater through scholarships and the Ewha West Campus Construction Fund. Choi's cumulative donations total approximately KRW 450 million.
During the fund delivery ceremony, Choi remarked, “It feels particularly meaningful to contribute the construction fund in this significant year, which marks the 80th anniversary since the College of Art & Design was initially founded as Yerimwon.” She also added, “I hope Ewha will continue to fulfill the pioneering role in advanced art education in Korea—a field it has led for the past 80 years.”
President Hyang-Sook Lee expressed her deep gratitude, stating, “We are profoundly thankful for your support in empowering Ewha's art education to take another leap forward. We will do our utmost to innovate Ewha's educational and research infrastructure.”
