Anonymous Donor Makes a Donation of KRW 600 Million to the Ewha New Era Fund

Ewha Womans University has received a donation of KRW 600 million to the Ewha New Era Fund from an anonymous donor. This donor’s cumulative donations have reached KRW 1.4 billion in total, setting an inspiring example of ongoing donations for Ewha’s development and education of successive generations.

The donor has demonstrated an unwavering passion for learning, diligently attending courses at Ewha Womans University’s Global School of Continuing Education from 1996 to the present. Currently serving as an executive advisor at the Board for the Advancement of the Global School of Continuing Education, the donor has steadily continued donations for the overall development of Ewha Womans University, including funding scholarships for Ewha students, and made a significant contribution to realize the vision of Ewha Womans University through this donation to the Ewha New Era Fund. Ewha Womans University plans to install a commemorative plaque on campus in recognition of the donor’s generous contributions to Ewha Womans University.


The fund delivery ceremony to celebrate the donation was held on May 8, 2025 (Thu.) at the reception room in Pfeiffer Hall. The event was attended by the donor, in addition to President Hyang-Sook Lee; Yun Jung Choi, Vice President for University Relations and Development; and Hyemi Lee, Associate Vice President for University Relations and Development in attendance to express gratitude for the donation. Chairperson Mun Jeongsuk and directors on the Board for the Advancement of Global School of Continuing Education at Ewha Womans University also graced the occasion.


Sharing their conviction behind the donation, the donor remarked, “I have always believed that giving to the best of my ability is the greatest contribution I can make to the university.” The donor also expressed, “I am delighted to once again contribute to Ewha, an institution for which I have developed a deep affection through many years of studying with my fellow learners.”


President Hyang-Sook Lee stated, “I sincerely appreciate the executive advisor for their generous support that empowers Ewha to realize its vision and development plans in preparation for a new era.” She further added, “Your passion for learning and heartfelt love for Ewha, as exemplified by your donations, will serve as an inspiring example for many members of the Ewha community.”
