Trent Bax is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Ewha Womans University. Trent obtained both his master's degree and doctoral degree from the University of Hong Kong. Trent has both taught and currently teaches courses on criminology, deviance and social control, surveillance, social theory (both contemporary and historical) and contemporary Chinese society. Trent conducts research within the area of 'sociology of deviance' with particular attention toward youth, deviancy and social control. Prior to coming to Korea, Trent's research focus was on contemporary China, and he has published on irregular migration, the rise of the service industry and the service worker, and recently published a book on 'Youth and Internet Addiction in China'. Currently, Trent is writing a book manuscript on school violence in South Korea, and continues to publish work on migration in China and internet addiction in China.
