Seokhyun Yoon is a professor in the Department of Physics. He is an expert in experimental condensed matter physics, especially Raman scattering spectroscopy and ellipsometry studies of various condensed matter. Recent research interests include characteristics of elementary excitations in materials for optoelectronic applications, low-dimensional nano-structured materials such as nanowires and single atomic layered materials, and experimental and theoretical studies of the Raman enhancement mechanism in low-dimensional materials. Prof. Yoon obtained a B.S. degree in Seoul National University, a M. S. degree, and a Ph.D. degree in the University of Illinois. He worked as a researcher at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in the U.S. after his Ph.D. He is a member of the Korean Physical Society, the Americal Physical Society, and the European Materials Research Society.
