After graduating from Ewha Womans Universtiy, she was trained at Ewha Womans University Medical Center. She was a Research Associate at the University of Iowa, Iowa in 2004 and studied neonatal lung development in Dr. Jeanne Snyder’s lab. In 2013, she was a visiting professor to the Center for Advanced Pediatric and Perinatal Education (CAPE) at Stanford University, Palo Alto, California. She is an active member in the Korean Society of Pediatrics, Korean Society of Neonatology, Korean Society of Perinatology, Korean Society of Breastfeeding Medicine, and The Society of Simulation in Healthcare. She participates in the Ewha Birth and Growth Cohort study and her research interests are on neonatal lung development and neonatal nutrition. She has published about 100 papers in the field. She is a pioneer in incorporating teamwork training in Neonatal Resuscitation Program in Korea and she focuses on how to incorporate debriefing in the clinical environment for quality improvement.
