He received the B.S., the M.S. and Ph.D degree in Computer Engineering from Dept. of Computer Engineering from Seoul National University, 1983, 1985 and 1994 respectively in KOREA.   
His home town is Chunchon which is called the City of Lake in KOREA.   
Prof. Hwan-Seung Yong is currently a Professor of  Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Ewha Womans University.
He is an advisor for Law information system of Korean Government and for SW copyright assessment of Korea Copyright Commission.
His major current research interests include Knowledge based Information Processing System, Data Mining and Big Data Analysis.
He translated the book titled "Data Mining" written by Pang-Ning Tan etc into korean.
