Jong-Im Han Professor Emeritus

Dr. Jong-Im Han is a professor of Dept. of English Education and distinguished scholar in the field of multimedia-assisted language learning. She received a Ph. D. degree from the graduate school of Georgetown University in the year of 1990, majoring in linguistics, and researched at the Dept. of Applied Linguistics/TESL of UCLA as a visiting scholar during 2000~2001. Prof. Han's main research area is technology-enhanced language learning utilizing ICT tools and digital textbooks. She recently carried out policy research on cultivating Korean EFL learners' creativity and character. Prof. Han served as the president of the Korea Association of Foreign Languages Education(KAFLE), the chief vice-president of the Korea Association of the Teachers of English(KATE), the vice-president of the Korea Association of Multimedia Assisted Language Education(KAMALL), and the vice-president of the Korean Association for the Study of English Language and Linguistics(KASELL). She also served as the advisory committee member for the national English test, the program manager of the Korea Research Foundation(KRF), and the research member of foreign language high school textbooks development committee. Prof. Han also served as the Dean of the Graduate School of Education, Ewha Womans University, and is currently serving as the Principal of Ewha Demonstration Middle School. Prof. Han has published about forty-odd papers in National Research Foundation(NRF) registered journals and several books including English Phonetics and Pronunciation Teaching, Multimedia-assisted English Teaching, and English Education.
