On October 18, 2024, Ewha Womans University’s College of Art & Design (Dean: Gyoung-Sil Choi) became the first university in Korea to sign an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) with IKEA Korea. IKEA Korea is the Korean branch of IKEA, a Swedish global lifestyle brand beloved worldwide for its affordable prices and innovative designs, and values sustainable design and environmental protection as key principles.

Both institutions share the vision of nurturing female experts, and this MOU was signed to provide students with various opportunities to gain practical experience and engage with global design trends.

To commemorate this agreement, on October 21, 2024, the head of Retail Design at IKEA Korea, Magdalena Klosek, will deliver a special lecture, offering students valuable insights into the latest design industry trends and IKEA’s design philosophy.

Both institutions will continue to collaborate to provide students with diverse learning opportunities.
