Social welfare institutions operated by the school's Social Welfare Center (Director Chung Soon-dool) have won awards consecutively, including Prime Minister's Award, Health and Welfare Minister's Award, and Gender Equality and Family Minister's Award and more.

For instance, Mapo Workfare Center (Director Hong Jin-ju) won the Prime Minister’s Award at the 3rd Korea Social Economics Expo at Gwangju on July 2nd, recognized for its contribution to invigorating social economy. Mapo Workfare Center has also won Health and Welfare Minister’s Award last January 27th for invigoration of Social Economy.

The Mapo Workfare Center is a professional welfare institution for integrated support of employment, welfare, and social economy. Ewha has been entrusted with the operation of the center since its opening in 2007. This commendation of Award is the result of the recognition of establishing an alternative housing welfare case management model through the development of a joint business model and the supply of joint services between social enterprises.

Meanwhile, Seodaemungu Helath/Family/Multicultural Family Support Center (Director Kang Joohyun, Sdmfc Family Center) received an award in the Family Policy Merits group category by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family on May 14, 2021 to mark the "Family Month of May." This award was a recognition for its contributions to the spread of gender equality, enhancement of family values, promotion of various family sector policies, and integration of multicultural families into society.

The SDMFC Family Center has been entrusted to Ewha for operation since its opening in 2006. For the last 15 years, the center has been playing a crucial role as a family welfare institution by actively participating in pilot experiment projects for integrative centers, part-time child care projects for multicultural families, communication enhancement projects for multicultural families, and more. In this way, the center contributed to job creation and adaptation of International Marriage Migrant Women to Korean society, so that it could increase the acceptability of multicultural families in the local community.

Director Dr. Chung, who is also a professor from the Department of Social Welfare Studies, said that “these awards show the excellent capabilities of social welfare institutions operated by the school, and we will continue to play a key role in the community as well as the hub of Social Responsibility projects."
