Asian Center for Women’s Studies(ACWS, Director Dr. Jung, Ji-Young) was recently selected for National Research Foundation of Korea(NRF)’s project. The “Global Education Support Project” starts from May 2021 to next January 2022. ACWS will conduct “online and offline research on demand of Cambodian universities for joint development and implementation on gender tertiary   education models and contents.” This project is basically preparing the basis for developing online-based gender education models and contents in line with the post-COVID19 era.

This project includes △ A demand survey on the development and implementation of gender tertiary education contents △ A survey on the status of institutions that conduct gender higher education related ODA in Cambodia △ A survey on the current status of online education infrastructure. During the investigation, the ACWS plans to explore the possibility of cooperation with Cambodian educational institutions including local universities. The outcome of the project will be the foundation for establishing a quality gender education system for Cambodian universities and training professionals.

“Through this project, we seek two things. In the short term, discussions on establishing gender higher education courses in Cambodia will be activated. In the longer term, we expect to develop an educational system that is applicable not only to Cambodia but also to various ODA recipient countries,” said Dr. Jung, director of the ACWS research team.
