Professor Jihyeon Jeon of International Office Administration Is selected for the Meeting Technology Project Contest

  The 18th AsiaTEFL International Conference (Chair: Professor Jihyeon Jeon of International Office Administration at Ewha), which is organized by the biggest English Education Society of Asian countries, has been selected for the Meeting Technology Project Contest by Korea Tourism Organization. As such, the conference will receive a budget of 140 million Korean won for applying cutting-edge technology for the 18th AsiaTEFL International Conference which will be held this year from November 26th until 28th at Kintex, Korea Exhibition Center.


  Asia TEFL (asiatefl.org), led by Professor Jihyeon Jeon, is participating in the online and offline simultaneous conference in the post-corona era and will make use of large-scale media wall, smart display, event management software, mobile application, NFC/RFID, projection mapping and robots for on-site participants and worldwide simultaneous and non-simultaneous streaming, chatbot, AR/VR, hologram discussion room for online participants.


  The 6 teams selected in the contest among 31 teams include 2020 International Vascular Biology Meeting, 10th World Human Rights Cities Forum, International Symposium of Science Museums, 18th AisaTEFL International Symposium, 19th International Anti-Corruption Conference and 2021 PyeongChang Peace Forum.

 

  Meeting technology refers to information and communications technologies such as AI, virtual reality and internet of things (IoT) which are applied in MICE (Meeting, Incentive Travel, Convention, Exhibition) industry. Meeting technology will receive attention especially more because international conferences require use of cutting-edge technologies due to COVID-19.
