Ji-Whan Yun Professor

Ji-Whan Yun is Associate Professor of Political Science at at Ewha Womans University in South Korea. He received his Ph.D. in political science from University of California, Berkeley in 2008. He teaches courses in the area of political economy. Professor Yun’s doctorate dissertation focused on labor market reform in Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan since the late-1990s. His major research interest has been the political background of emerging socioeconomic problems of East Asian capitalism, including labor market dualisation, jobless growth, self-employment, low productivity progress, etc. Most recently, he focuses on the conflicts between partisan dynamics and social habitus in East Asian countries, including South Korea, Japan, Thailand, and Taiwan. Professor Yun’s articles emerged in many journals, including Governance, Asian Survey, Pacific Affairs, Pacific Review, British Journal of Industrial Relations, etc.
