Hee Sun Kim is a professor of architectural engineering department and her researches are about development of analytical modeling methods for the applications to structural and medical engineering fields. She studied in department of civil engineering, Georgia Institute of Technology, U.S.A and achieved her Ph. D. in 2009. Professor Kim came to Ewha Womans University in 2010 and has been a department chair since 2012. She has published over 20 journal papers and received awards by American Society of Mechanical Engineering, Architecture Institute of Korea and Korean Concrete Institute. In addition, she received 'Excellent Lecture Award' from Korean Society for Engineering Education in 2012. Currently, Prof. Kim is actively conducting researhces about structural safety evaluation of buildings under disaster, investigations on mechanical behaviors of concrete based composites, and predictions of stress distributions on skull under masticatory actions.
