Nak-Myeong Kim Professor Emeritus

Prof. Nak Myeong Kim has been with the Dept. of Electronics Engineering at the College of Engineering. He has been interested in the digital wireless communication technologies, especially in forecasting the future of our society and creating innovative technologies in the view of wireless information networking. He received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Cornell University. Before he joined Ewha University in 1996, he had been a Principal Researcher at the Central Research Institute in LG Information and Communications, Ltd. During the two occasions of sabbatical leave, he did cooperative research as a visiting scholar at Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology. His research interests include 5G wireless technology, wireless applications in medical systems, hybrid multiple access technologies, and cross-layer optimization. In the university, he has been in charge of the Vice President of Information and Communication in two times. He also has been a member of directors at the Korea Institute of Electronics and Information Engineers (IEIE), and at the Korea Institute of Communication and Information Sciences. He also had been the chairman of Mobile Communication Research Group. He is now in charge of the chairman of Board of Governors for the IEEE Asia Pacific Wireless Symposium. He has published many papers internationally, and translated some books, such as <Wireless and Mobile Communications>, <Digital Communications>, and <Communication Networks>.
